Churches looking for a unique way to provide their pastor a getaway in the woods have an option through Real Momentum Ministries of Woodstock.

A free hunting weekend will be provided to a dozen pastors, with availability in September, October, and December, the ministry explains on its website. Former Georgia Baptist pastors Joe Bufford and Dennis Wilder are partnering in the ministry that will take participants on the excursion that will include appropriate license(s), tag(s), food, and lodging for hunting Whitetail Deer in western Kentucky, regarded as the top-rated destination for such a hunt. Congregations can nominate their pastor or a pastor can apply on his own, with a deadline for receiving nominations on Aug. 15.

“We anticipate God greatly using these opportunities to help each man be refreshed and renewed while being poured into by those on our team as well as being able to sit and reflect in God’s great creation,” said Real Momentum Ministries executive director Keith Boggs.

Available dates for hunts are Sept. 17-19, Oct. 15-17, and Dec. 17-19. More details are available at the Real Momentum Site. Pastors are encouraged to travel Wednesday, hunt Thursday through Saturday, and plan to worship locally on Sunday before returning to their place of ministry.
