Agrees with Drace coments

I wholeheartedly agree with Bro. Drace’s comments in “Observations of an evangelist ... revised” in the recent Index guest commentary, though he could have said much more.

• Why do we acknowledge any churches for their growth when 70% of Georgia is unchurched? All we are doing is trading sheep (or goats).

• Why do we say giving is strong when our annual average is 2-3 percent? Until we are truly giving the tithe and above the tithe to missions, our stewardship is anything but strong.

• Why are churches constructing more buildings when they could use that money to minister to those losing their homes or struggling just to pay for a tank of gas? We aren’t filling the buildings we have and we can always schedule more services.

You would think with millions of Georgians one heartbeat away from spending eternity apart from Christ in the flames of Hell that we might be a bit more focused on reaching outside the walls of our churches instead of trying to make our buildings larger and more comfortable for the saints hiding within.
