Foothills Community Church in Marble Hill welcomed our new pastor, Charles R. Parish, III, on July 1. He is joined by his wife Lacy and their children: Andy, 12; Lincoln, 9; twins Abel and Luke, 7; and daughter Haven, 2. "Pastor Charlie," as he likes to be called, was licensed to preach in 2011 at First Baptist Church in Avon Park, FL and then ordained at that church on September 16, 2012.

The Parish family includes Charlie, recently called as pastor of Foothills Community Church in Marble Hill, his wife Lacy, and their children: Andy, 12; Lincoln, 9; twins Abel and Luke, 7; and daughter Haven, 2.[/caption]

Pastor Charlie and Lacy have served churches in Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. They served as missionaries to Panama in 2011. Born in Mobile, AL, Charlie grew up in Powder Springs. He is a graduate of Harrison High School in Kennesaw, the University of Alabama in 1999, Kennesaw State University in 2000 with a BS in Media/Communications, and is presently completing work for an MDiv in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Pastor Parish has a love for the Lord, family, and ministering to people. His wife Lacy is a graduate of Kennesaw State University with a BS in Psychology/Criminal Justice. She grew up in Camilla.

Pastor Charlie began preaching through the book of Philippians when he came under the Sermon Series title “JOY, no matter what!” Each week has been a blessing as he has helped us to take a deeper look at this book of JOY ... seeing how no matter what life brings, with Christ we can experience real JOY, even on our toughest days.

The family of believers at Foothills Community Church thanks God for the Parish family and look forward to serving the Lord with them for many years to come.

On August 26 we will have a "Celebrate & Meet Our New Pastor" luncheon following the morning service so that folks will have a chance to meet and fellowship with all of the Parish family.
