Letters: Revoice Conference draws questions

Posted
There has been some passage of time but the issue disturbs me concerning Karen Swallow Prior and the "Revoice conference". Why is Karen Swallow Prior still a Research Fellow at the SB Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission? Prior claims to endorse the conference because the aid is Biblical faithfulness ... and then states "that does not mean I endorse every speaker, every panel, every presentation ..."  This is double speak! To affirm and endorse the Revoice conference is to endorse the WHOLE! You cannot pick and choose! To touch is to become contaminated. She takes the same position as the LGBT group in that they (desire) to affirm the historical Christian doctrine of marriage and sexuality and choose to remain gueer lesbian, bisexual, transsexual. As Dr. Mohler stated "there is no way that faithful Christians can celebrate a non-biblical orientation and CLAIM to be faithful to Scripture? This LGBT group can now claim the endorsement of an influential ERLC member of the SBC! Why is this woman (Prior) still a "research fellow" with the SB ERLC? Bill Johnson, Kingsland
Johnson has served as pastor of churches in Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. His last Georgia pastorate before retirement "several years ago" was Forest View Baptist Church in Woodbine. He is a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Kingsland, where he is retired. He currently writes "The View from Calebs Mountain" for the Camden County Press.
