Pinehurst Baptist Church in Columbus held its 61st anniversary celebration on July 31. In conjunction with the event, the church also recognized the beginning of Pastor Tony Dickerson's 44th year of ministry with the congregation.

Henderson Baptist Church in Elko will celebrate its 177th anniversary on Aug. 14, beginning at 10 a.m. Louis Pearce, who was ordained at the church 44 years ago, will preach. Dinner on the grounds follows the morning service. Attendees are encouraged to bring memorabilia of the church to share with others.

First Baptist Church in Jesup will have homecoming services Sept. 18, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Former interim pastor Woodrow Hudson, director of chaplaincy for the Georgia Department of Corrections for several years and 1996 Hometown Hero for Carrollton who carried the Olympic torch through town, will be the guest speaker. Directors, teachers, and students from First School, First Jesup's preschool program, will be recognized as part of celebrating its 30 years of ministry. Dinner in the fellowship hall will follow immediately after the service.

The North Georgia Hub of New Orleans Baptist Seminary will host a conference for pastors and church leaders, Preaching for the 21st Century, on Sept. 17 at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church in Marietta.
