DULUTH – The Georgia Baptist Mission Board is asking churches to begin 2021 with prayer.
The 21 Days of Prayer Guide, available for free on the mission board website at gabaptist.org/21daysofprayer, was written by leaders from the mission board’s Church Strengthening team.
There is a Scripture verse and short devotional for each of the 21 days. The guide also offers a short note section underneath the devotional for individuals to write their prayers or write how the devotional applies to their lives.
John Courtney, Research and Development lead strategist, said the guide was written in such a way as to be used at any point during the year.
“We want Georgia Baptists to start 2021 in prayer,” Courtney said. “If your church has a plan already for praying in 2021, that’s OK. We’ve provided a guide for those who’d like to use it or who aren’t sure where to start.”
The guide covers a range of topics that include praying for refreshment, protection, boldness, lost friends, and even for the local church and mission boards. There is also a text-in option that allows people to text 706-408-9899 for daily reminders and prompts for prayer.
Courtney said the mission board is also participating in the prayer initiative.
“We’re praying with and on behalf of all 3,600 churches in the Georgia Baptist Convention,” he said.
Churches and individuals can download the materials to print on their own or can share the link to the guide with church members, friends, and family. The guide can also be accessed by visiting gabaptist.org and clicking the link in the top banner.
