WAKE FOREST, N.C. — Southeastern Seminary welcomed its board of trustees and Southeastern Society to campus for their biannual meetings on Monday, April 15. This year, in addition to the plenary sessions and institutional updates, Southeastern celebrated the Akins’ 20th anniversary, ground was broken for a new dining hall extension to the Ledford Student Center, and over 80 students and their families were commissioned during chapel to go out on the mission field.

NEW ORLEANS -- As New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary marks the tenth anniversary of the Caskey Center for Church Excellence, the celebration centers on two astounding numbers—75,682 student-initiated gospel conversations and 9,050 professions of faith.

Beginning January 1st, I pray about opportunities to serve the Lord during the year, near or far.  I had one week open in March.  There was a possibility with a dental team going to Alaska. That door closed.  I continued to pray.  If nothing happened, I would just stay home and spring clean.

I take my 10-year-old granddaughter, Liza, to school every morning. About two weeks ago, we scheduled our summer family vacation with our kids and grandchildren. Every morning she counts down the days and tells me how she is going to have to wait SO long until we can go. She is not even the least bit excited about school being out because she is so focused on waiting for vacation.
