An unstoppable purpose

Posted

In this world, you need to have a firm grasp on your true identity because there are plenty of voices that will try to define you.

During Jesus’ earthly ministry, people hurled a lot of false accusations at Him. In Mark 3, some said He was “out of His mind.” Others were less charitable. They said, “He has Beelzebub.” Even His mother, Mary, and His brothers had come to talk with Him.

John 7:5 says that Jesus’ brothers did not believe Him, so one can conjecture that they might have come to try to take Him home. However, Jesus was firm in His identity. No one could shake Him. He knew that He had come to do the Father’s will, and no one was going to stop Him.

Do you know who you are? Do you know the purpose for which you are living? Are you firm in your identity in Christ?

This devotion is based on Marty McLain's book "The Crown has Fallen: A Study of the Kings of Judah."
