Can God fix our mistakes?

Scripture for today: 1 John 1:9
Recently, my wife Holli and I were reflecting on our past. Specifically, I was thinking about a mistake I had made in the last couple of years. If I could go back and do that one over again, I would. But I can’t. It’s done.
Then, I thought, “How long do I have to pay for that mistake? Can God fix our mistakes? Can God take the mistake or mistakes we have made in the past and correct them, or do we live with them forever?”
We must deal with forgiveness. When we mess up, God does forgive. We have to repent of our sin and be sorry for our sin, but God will forgive. I John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, Jesus is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” So, yes, our sins can be forgiven.
David committed adultery. He confessed his sin and God forgave him. He became a man after God’s own heart.
Jonah got on board a ship headed the opposite way from Nineveh and God cause a storm to develop. He confessed his sin and God used him.
Peter denied the Lord … but God forgave him and used him mightily.
God is in the mistake-fixing business. Give God your mistake today and experience His grace.
