Scripture for today: Jeremiah 29:11
Change is part of life. We often don’t like it but, it is a fact of life. As someone has said, “The only thing that likes change is a wet baby … and they take it kicking and screaming.”
Are you hanging on to something? Have you been offered a promotion at work, or have you been offered a job that will require you to move, but you don’t want to leave your comfort zone? You like your house. You like where you live. You like your church, so you decide to hang on? You know what you have and you like what you have. And you kind of want to “stay put.”
Change is part of life. And, instead of fighting it, we should learn to adjust to it. I love this quote:
“I cannot change the direction of the wind … but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.”
So, if you are hanging onto something – afraid to move, afraid to take a new position – don’t hang on. Life is filled with adjustments. God may have something far better for you in a new location.
