Mauldin, former IMB missionary and pastor's widow, dies

ELLAVILLE – Christine Mauldin, widow of former Georgia Baptist pastor Kenneth Mauldin and former International Mission Board missionary to Guyana, South America, passed away on Aug. 26. She was 82.

Mauldin, an Alabama native, served as a Southern Baptist pastor’s wife for almost 30 years in Texas, Alabama, and Georgia. She served on several associational committees and led in the areas of music, WMU, VBS, and children’s ministry.

As a missionary from 1991-2001, she served alongside her husband in the areas of home and family life, children’s ministry, music, women’s missions coordination, and church planting. Upon returning to the states, both she and Kenneth took mission trips overseas, including spending several months in Russia in 2003. Mauldin also spent five years as a trustee for the Georgia Baptist Children’s Home.

She leaves behind three sons, Randy, Rusty, and Ron. Rusty Mauldin is minister of education at First Baptist Church in Americus. Her memorial service was held at First Baptist, Americus on Wednesday, Aug. 28. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to Georgia Baptist Children’s Home.
