Job Description: Bi-Vocational Youth Pastor Denomination: Southern Baptist Position Summary: We’re seeking a motivated youth pastor with a building/growing mentality, that will take responsibility to reach & equip students with specific focus on discipleship, evangelism, and fellowship. The pastor will plan, coordinate and evaluate ministries to Middle School and High School students, grades 6-12. Will give leadership to ministries that include vision, encouragement to parents of students and leadership development for student leaders and adult leaders who serve in these ministries. Desired Skills and Experience • Prefer leadership experience and/or experience with a student ministry. • Prefer College Experience. • Ability to communicate and relate well with students and parents. • Well organized and able to develop volunteer leaders. • Be an active member of a like-minded Baptist Church and follow the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 • Must pass background check (Criminal and Financial) Specific Responsibilities 1. Build, organize and provide leadership for three main areas of student ministry: a) Grow student ministry, grades 6-12 b) Build relationships with parents of students. c) Build a leadership culture for adults & students who serve in the student ministry. 2. Build discipleship, fellowship and evangelism programs involving students of the Church. 3. Work with and through the leaders of existing Church programs and ministries. 4. Organize outreach events for youth to connect with other youth in their daily lives. 5. Give insight/counsel to students and their families as needed. If necessary, recommend professional Christian counseling. 6. The Minister will maintain their own personal spiritual growth through Bible study, prayer and church attendance. 7. The Minister will work with the Finance Team on budgeting and managing youth ministry funds. 8. Proclaim the Gospel to believers and unbelievers with specific focus on youth. 9. Work under the supervision and direction of the Senior Pastor 10. Confirm Ministry compliance with Child Protection laws Compensation Salary based on experience and qualifications.
