Bivocational Youth Director

Grace Fellowship Church in Greensboro, GA is seeking a Bivocational Youth Director.

SUMMARY

The Student Director of Grace Fellowship serves as the leader of student ministry.  The position objective is to build a life-giving and life-changing student ministry (middle through high school) consistent with the vision and mission of Grace Fellowship.

The person filling this position will work closely with the pastoral staff as well as the elders on a part-time basis (20-25 hrs week) in discharging his responsibilities and will report to the Discipleship Pastor. 

 

SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Have a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a passionate, growing personal relationship with Him
  • Models the biblical qualifications of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, 2 Peter 5:1-4)
  • Be a self-starter with drive, passion and initiative
  • Be teachable and willing to be held accountable
  • Be a team player with a positive attitude
  • Possess the spiritual gifts of teaching (Roman 12:7), leadership (Romans 12:80) and administration (I Corinthians 12:28)
  • Sense God’s leadership to lead student ministry
  • Demonstrates proven ability to identify, enlist, train, and effectively engage volunteers in planning and effectively executing ministry objectives
  • Have enthusiasm for the overall vision and purpose of Grace Fellowship
  • Model biblical community in relationships (Matthew 5:23-24, Matthew 18:15-17, Ephesians 4:25-32)
  • Model biblical family life (if married) or faithful celibacy (if single) before the body (Ephesians 5:22 – 6:4)
  • Model biblical integrity in all things (I Timothy 6:11-12)
  • Model biblical humility and putting the needs of others above one’s own (Philippians 2:5-11)

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership

  • Establish the vision for a life-giving and life changing student ministry
  • Recruit and mentor adult and student leaders
  • Develops and effectively utilizes diverse communication techniques to ensure leaders, students, parents, and the church in general are appropriately informed and involved across student ministries
  • Oversees planning and execution of all aspects of student ministry worship and observes/participates in all age groups worship experiences on periodic basis
  • Plan, organize and oversee regularly scheduled activities for students including but not limited to mission trips, camps, summer programs, and recreation outings

 

Administration

  • Develop and manage an annual ministry budget with the Discipleship Pastor
  • Regularly communicate with the Discipleship Pastor of the progress and problems of the student ministry
  • Perform the necessary administrative tasks aligned with the ministry including compliance with all Grace Fellowship youth ministry safety policies.
  • Carry out other tasks as directed by the Discipleship Pastor
  • Aggressively pursue personal, spiritual and professional growth

Relationships

  • Contact and follow up with new students and parents
  • Build relationships with parents and guardians
  • Network with other area youth workers
  • Actively participates in mercy visitation as a part of the pastoral team at Grace Fellowship
