Pastor (Full-time)

Harvest Baptist Church has a full time Pastor position available. We are located at 2075 Hwy. 212, about 12 miles South of Covington, Georgia. Our average weekly attendance for Sunday worship services is 80 members in-person and 15 views on-line. Sunday school attendance averages 54 members, and 16 youth on Wednesday evenings. Having been founded in 1987, Harvest Baptist Church has been in existence for 37 years.

We are committed to making disciples for Christ to spread God’s Word throughout our community, country, and the world. We seek God’s guidance and direction for a new pastor for our church so we can continue to grow spiritually. We have a diverse age distribution ranging from children, students, young and middle adults, to seniors. We are currently operating with an Interim Pastor.

Qualifications:

Has had a specific calling and passion from the Lord to preach and teach God’s Word.

Born again Christian with a personal testimony of his conversion and commitment to

Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Must align with the Baptist Doctrines of Faith as stated in our constitution and by-laws.

Commitment to honesty, integrity, accountability to our church and to God.

Good public speaking ability.

Strong leadership/administrative skills and abilities.

Strong passion to save the lost.

Should be an Ordained Baptist Minister.

Requirements:

- Led by the Holy Spirit.

- Teaches and preaches from the Holy Bible (God’s Word).

- A seminary degree preferred.

- Pastoral care for families and members.

- Visitation of sick, hospitalized, and homebound members.

- Familiarity with electronic telecast methods helpful.

- Serve as chairman of the Church Council.

- Serve as moderator for Church Business Meetings.

- Plan and conduct worship services.

- Plan and prepare sermons.

- Officiate at weddings and funerals.

- Lead in observance of the Ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

- Provide spiritual and scriptural counseling for premarital and marital couples.
