Berlin Baptist Church (BBC) is prayerfully seeking a Pastor, called by God, to lead its congregation to grow in the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and to disciple its members to reach the lost within our world, locally, nationally, and worldwide. Looking for a man who exemplifies Jesus in his daily walk, always putting God first, others second, and lastly, himself. A man who loves God’s people and will shepherd them. A man who is committed to God’s Word and teaches the Holy Bible.

We are a rural Missionary Baptist church in Colquitt County, located in the center of Berlin, GA. We are a cooperating member with the Colquitt County Baptist Association. We were established in 1910.

We currently have an average attendance of approximately 45 on Sunday mornings and 25 on Sunday evenings. Church services consist of Sunday morning and evening with a traditional music service. Our Wednesday night services consist of Bible Study, averaging 25 in attendance each week, and children and youth ministry averaging 25 young people and 11 adults weekly.

Our congregation consists mainly of senior adults with the ability to grow in the younger age groups within and outside surrounding areas of our local city.

Our church property consists of a sanctuary, Sunday School rooms, Social Hall, a 3/2 pastorium within walking distance of our church, and a church office. BBC has a bus capable of transporting 25 children.

We are seeking a Pastor who is:

· Called and led by God, and who adheres to the Baptist Faith and Message

· Willing to shepherd the church in all aspects of our worship and ministry

· Interested and concerned about the lost in our community; working with church members to reach the community and lead them to know the Lord Jesus

· Willing to work closely with deacons/officers/Music Minister/teachers in the administrative duties of the church

· Willing to preach and actively participate in Sunday School and all church activities

· Willing to participate, encourage, and help organize our church in an evangelistic community outreach

Qualifications:

· Exemplify the life of a fully committed disciple of God. Maintain a vital and growing personal walk with the Lord through committed Bible Study, prayer, and meditation

· Faithful to Biblical doctrine

· A spiritually mature leader, grounded and rooted in Jesus Christ

· Highly relational, strong in interpersonal skills

· High integrity

· Loving shepherd

· Visionary leader. Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.

· Gifted communicator, who effectively and prayerfully teaches and preaches the Word of God

· Proven leadership and administrative skills in the areas of personal finances, facilities, and change management

· After his personal relationship with the Lord, his priority is to his family and then, to is role as shepherd of the church

· Financially support the work of ministry at Berlin Baptist Church by faithfully giving/tithing

· Administration- Participate and lead in the annual strategic planning process. Provide input into the development of the annual financial budget to meet financial objectives. Provide input to media personnel to ensure optimal use of social media and possible future website.

Education and Experience:

· Preferably, licensed and ordained as a minister of the gospel of Christ by a cooperating church of the Southern Baptist Convention

· Preferably, a graduate or undergraduate degree from an accredited, conservative, evangelical Southern Baptist theological seminary

· Preferably, five years of pastoral experience in a local church.

· Salary will be commensurate with experience and educational attainment
