Unity Baptist Church in Newnan, Ga. is seeking a full time, multi-talented worship leader. This position requires an individual who is a Christ follower who is saved and is faithful to the Lord. This position will entail many duties associated with our Praise and Worship music. The Worship Leader will lead the congregation in primarily Contemporary Christian music, was well as a mix of Traditional Hymns and Southern Gospel. This includes singing and music from our Praise Team. The Worship Leader will also lead a choir for part of the service. This person will need to have experience with working with people on A&V systems and technology. We are located in an growing & exciting community and we are looking for a Worship Leader who is enthusiastic to participate in community outreach. Commentary: Why did Jesus tell us to mourn?

Though making an annual trip to St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., admittedly causes a certain amount of anxiety, there is no greater feeling than hearing that my son remains cancer-free after a decade since being treated for leukemia. We praise the Lord each year after learning that his scans are clear, just as we did all those years ago when we first heard the word remission.

Commentary: The dangers of passive leadership

I read a statement in a leadership journal that points to one of the dangers of passive leadership. The requote from Catherine Rymsha was given at the HR Specialist Summit this past year. She said, “The culture of any organization is shaped by the worst behavior the leader is willing to tolerate.”
