Penia Baptist Church in Cordele, GA is currently seeking a worship leader. The position is currently a part-time position, but may develop into a full-time position over time. Penia Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist church with a very diverse aged, active body of believers. We utilize a blended style of worship, incorporating both traditional hymns and contemporary praise and worship songs accompanied by various musical instruments. We average 175+ on Sunday and we are actively growing. As a church, we strive to model the ordinances, teachings, and doctrines set forth in the Bible for the local church.
Education:
? High school diploma or equivalent
? Formal musical training a plus, but not required
Qualifications:
? A born again believer in Jesus Christ
? Agrees with The Baptist Faith and Message
? An upstanding Christian character
? A true calling and giftedness in music and worship
? Previous experience leading worship preferred, but not required
? Strong organizational and time management skills
? Ability to communicate the Gospel message through musical worship
? Ability to lead and minister to our teams of musicians and vocalists
? Ability to work with musicians of varying skill levels
? Ability to utilize social media and technology to enhance musical worship
Job Description:
? Oversee the entire music ministry of the church and grant approval of any music to be played in church for all occasions to include but not limited to special programs, weddings, etc.
? Choose music for and direct the music portion of the worship service
? Work with the pastoral team to coordinate worship service with sermon topics and seasonal themes; Selecting songs and leading congregational singing
? Coordinate church pianist, organist and musical programs
? Grow and continue to develop a strong existing music ministry
? Lead musical worship for Sunday morning, Sunday night, and Wednesday night services
