Youth Pastor

First Baptist Church of Glennville, GA is seeking a Youth Pastor.

The most vital requirement of this ministry position is that you maintain a deep, meaningful, rich, personal and growing relationship with Jesus. The spiritual disciplines of daily devotions, witnessing and personal ministry should be practiced regularly. 

  1. The primary focus of this position will be development of the Youth Ministry (Grades 7-12).The second focus wil be the administrative oversight of the Children's Ministries (Grades 1-6).
  2. Work with the Nominating Committee in development of a Youth Ministry Team and a Children's Ministry Team. 
  3. Supervise and conduct a consistent working program of Bible study, discipleship, missions and fellowship for the youth in cooperation with the Youth Ministry Team.
  4. Plan and conduct at least two retreats or camps each year for the youth in cooperation with the Youth Ministry Team. 
  5. Consistently involve the youth in worship through youth week activities, drama, music (in cooperation with the music minister), scripture reading, prayer and personal testimonies. 
  6. Establish a functioning ministry of youth outreach and visitation in cooperation with the Youth Ministry Team. 
  7. Lead members of the Youth Ministry Team to be involved in associational and convention training opportunities. 
  8. Develop and present a proposed Youth Ministry budget to the Budget and Finance Committee for consideration at the appropriate time. 
  9. Administrate a consistent working program of Bible study, discipleship, missions and fellowship for the children in cooperation with the Children's Ministry Team.
  10. Serve as a resource person providing direction and guidance to the members of the Children's Ministry Team. 
  11. Lead members of the Children's Ministry team to be involved in associational and convention training opportunities. 
  12. Assist the Children's Ministry Team in developing and presenting a proposed Childrens' Ministry budget to the Budget and Finance Committee at the appropriate time. 
  13. Establish meaningful relationships with the Pastor and other staff through regular communication, staff meetings, calendar planning, joint prayer and Bible study.
  14. Assist other staff in the execution of reasonable ministry requests. Expect the same courtesy in return. 
  15. Assist or lead in worship service through announcements, prayer, scripture reading, children's sermons or preaching when appropriate. 
  16. Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the youth and children's ministries in cooperation with the corresponding ministry team.
  17. Establish and maintain relationships with other ministers in the Tattnall-Evans Association and also the State and National Convention.
