Nationally-known evangelist David Ring will be the guest speaker at Eastside Baptist Church in Americus on Jan. 26 at 6 p.m.
Born with cerebral palsy in Jonesboro, Ark. in 1953, Ring was orphaned at 14 years old and left to live with various extended family members at different times. After gaining a relationship with Christ, Ring learned self-respect and acceptance of his physical challenges. Those realizations, Ring says, were a milestone in his life.
A nationally-known speaker since 1973, Ring shares his testimony with more than 100,000 people a year at churches, conventions, schools, and corporate events. He has been featured numerous times on several nationwide tv programs. His book, “Just as I Am,” tells his story.
For more information contact Eastside Baptist Church at (229) 331-8210. Sims Jones is pastor.
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story placed Ring’s date of birth in 1853. Though a man of great life experience, The Index concedes he doesn’t have that much of it.
