DULUTH — Ebenezer Baptist Church in Dacula led the way in giving toward ministries in the Peach State through the Georgia Baptist Mission Board in 2017. The Gwinnett County congregation gave $28,350.18 toward Mission Georgia last year.

"We're so grateful for this church and what they've done," Georgia Baptist Executive Director J. Robert White told Executive Committee members March 13. White made his remarks during the Executive Committee meeting held at the Missions and Ministry Center in Duluth. The list of Top 200 Mission Georgia Giving Churches 2017 joined similar lists celebrating GBC churches' missions giving during his presentation.

Located in a "suburb of the suburbs," Ebenezer Pastor Sam Davis expressed the church's desire to be a light in its community. That spirit spreads throughout the state through the church's Mission Georgia gifts.

"We hold VBS and volunteer a lot in our schools – offering Bible studies, feeding teachers and even buying them gifts," he said. "We've served as chaplains for different sports teams."

First Baptist Tifton was also a top giver to Mission Georgia, contributing $16,577. They were followed by North Metro Baptist Church, Lawrenceville ($15,000), Northside Baptist, Milledgeville ($13,824.46), and Endeavor Church,  an Atlanta congregation founded in 2015 ($12,500).
