MACON – Three Southern Baptist entity leaders sent video greetings and ministry updates to messengers and guests of the 2020 Georgia Baptist Convention Annual Meeting.

Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee

Ronnie Floyd, president and CEO of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee, brought a video greeting for messengers and guests of the Georgia Baptist Convention Annual Meeting.

“We really are better together, and we are stronger together,” Floyd said as he invited Georgia Baptists to attend the Southern Baptist Convention Annual Meeting on June 12-16, 2021, that will be held, Lord willing, in person.

Floyd addressed the importance of the Cooperative Program, among other things. He also shared that at the meeting he will present Vision 2025 – “An initiative for Southern Baptists to take the gospel to the end of the earth, together.”

“Have heart, and remember that we have what our world needs, and that God has called us ‘for such a time as this,’” Floyd encouraged Georgia Baptists.

LifeWay Christian Resources

Ben Mandrell, president of LifeWay, shared with messengers the new mission statement, officially unveiled earlier this year.

“LifeWay exists to honor God and serve churches by designing trustworthy experiences that fuel ministry,” Mandrell said.

He also shared the ways LifeWay sought to live out that mission in developing resources to serve the “church scattered” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“These are challenging times, but we must never forget that we are in God’s hands. I’m confident that the Lord will use this season for His glory and will push his church into the future in a fresh way,” Mandrell said, thanking Georgia Baptists for their partnership.

North American Mission Board

Kevin Ezell, president of the North American Mission Board, shared a ministry update and words of appreciation in a video to Georgia Baptists.

“In a year when so much has changed, our partnership means more than ever,” Ezell said. “We are so grateful for all that you’re doing to further the gospel.”

Although the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering took a 23% hit this year, ministry at NAMB continues, he assured.

“Because of the consistent focus on missions by Southern Baptist pastors and churches, the mission is not stalled, but continues to move forward with acceleration,” Ezell said.

He explained that NAMB hasn’t cut evangelism funds or pulled a missionary off the field. He also brought an update on the key ministries of NAMB.
