Help, help, help

For because he himself has suffered and been tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted. ~ Hebrews 2:18
David Allen was a childhood friend/bully. If you ever had a friend like David, you could never forget them.
We would be playing one minute, the next he would be squeezing my nose till it bled or some other horrendous act a ten-year-old oversized bully does to a six-year-old squirt! Once David went into “Hulk” mode. He tried to cover my mouth to keep me from yelling for help. Once Samuel, David’s older brother, heard my plea he came to deliver me. I was then allowed to do some bullying of my own. Halleluiah!
Sometimes temptation is strong, like a bully pushing us around. The Scripture teaches Jesus is able to succor or run to our aid and deliver us (Heb. 2:18) from the overwhelming power temptation sometimes bring.
Jesus, help us today to win the battle against whatever temptations may come our way. Show us the way of escape. Run to our aid!
