How to love life

Posted

“For, he who would love life and see good days, let him refrain his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.”
~1 Peter 3:10

Most every prayer in our home involves asking the Lord to give us a good day. We all want to love life and enjoy the days that God has given us. We even want that for those around us. How often it is said, “Have a good day.”

To accomplish this, we must keep our tongue from retaliating. The idea is that when someone does evil to us, we are not to return that evil with angry or vengeful words or actions. That is not always easy. That is why the Psalmist prayed, “Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth, keep a watch over the door of my lips (Psalm 141:3).”

Dear Lord give us the wisdom and spiritual strength to, “repay no one evil for evil (Romans 12:17).”
