ELLJAY First Baptist Church here recognized on Aug. 7 Greg Luther's 20 years of service in maintaining the grounds and buildings of the congregation.

The celebration was held Aug. 9, two days after the two-decade anniversary that Luther was hired as building superintendent of First Baptist. Those responsibilities have included the upkeep and cleaning of three buildings on campus, lawn and landscaping duties, and facility usage for events such as weddings and funerals. Luther also oversaw the care of church vehicles.

In addition, Luther has served as director for Royal Ambassadors and cared for others in the community through providing food and other necessities for children.

"While his job description may be short, the duties that he accomplishes would require a novel to fit everything in," said Josh Moyers, First Ellijay's associate pastor of Family Discipleship. "He has been a faithful staff member who not only overseas our facilities but ministers as he does so.

"It has been an honor and privilege to serve alongside Greg through the years and I speak on behalf of our church family when we say, 'Thank you Greg!'"
