FAYETTEVILLE — Members of McDonough Road Baptist Church celebrated the 100th anniversary of Sunday School ministry Sept. 29.

In September 1919 a morning Bible study was offered to children in the College Park community by a group of concerned Christians. That group eventually formed College Park Second Baptist Church in 1921, later to become McDonough Road Baptist when it relocated in 1994.

Yesterday the church took part in noting that anniversary, beginning at 9:45 and continuing through the 10:55 worship hour. Steve Parr, chief strategist of the Georgia Baptist Mission Board, was the guest preacher.
