Bartow Baptist Association David Franklin is hoping that a record number of Georgia Baptists will join others Thursday, May 7 in National Day of Prayer events across the country. The theme for this year's event is "Lord, Hear Our Cry."

"Georgia has historically been very engaged in the National Day of Prayer with many local communities having events. Everyone is encouraged to participate in their local communities events."

Franklin, who is serving this year as NDoP state coordinator, highlighted a part of the day for those wanting to make a presence for Georgia lawmakers. "A special invitation is also given to everyone to come to the state capital at 12 o'clock noon to our  State national Day of prayer event. The noon gathering will be on the south wing stairs," he said.

The National Day of Prayer is focused on seven sphere's of influence, he added. "Those are government, business, education, religion, media, arts and entertainment, and family with education being highlighted in 2015.

"We hope every one will take Thursday, May 7 as a day to truly cry out to God and ask Him to help us in our local communities, in our state, and across the nation. Thank you for your faithfulness to pray."
