Oklahoma megachurch pastor Groeschel quarantined for coronavirus

EDMOND, OK — Craig Groeschel, pastor of the Life.Church, which has nearly 90,000 members at 34 campuses over ten states, is being quarantined after being exposed to COVID-19.

Groeschel was one of the featured speakers at Willow Creek Deutschland Leitungskongress 2020, held Feb. 27-28 in southwest Germany, reported Religion News Service. The conference was cut short when one presenter became ill with COVID-19. On the flight home Groeschel and Bobby Gruenwald, another leader at Life.Church, were informed of their need to be quarantined.
While neither have shown signs of COVID-19, both will remain in 14-day quarantine at their homes in the Oklahoma City suburbs with no direct contact with church members or their families.
Groeschel and his wife, Amy, started Life.Church in a two-car garage in Edmond, Okla., in 1996. A multisite campus, the church became well-known for its use of technology and as the birthplace of the popular YouVersion Bible app, which was developed by Gruenwald.
