Today’s Scripture: 2 Samuel 7:22
When wanting to spice up their food, millions of people turn to Tabasco sauce. Its unique Louisiana flavor has made it a family favorite.
Surprisingly, the ingredients for Tabasco are very simple. Every bottle is a blend of tabasco peppers, salt, and vinegar. That is it.
So what makes Tabasco so special? Every one of those tabasco peppers and all the salt used in the sauce originate on a little island in south Louisiana called Avery Island. There may be many different hot sauces in the world, but when it comes to Tabasco sauce, there is only one exclusive source – Avery Island.
We serve a God who is even more unique. There is no one like him. No one can do the things that he does. He alone is the true source of power and glory.
After God gave King David victory over his enemies, David prayed a prayer of thanksgiving to God. He said, “Therefore you are great, O LORD God. For there is none like you, and there is no God besides you, according to all that we have heard with our ears” (2 Samuel 7:22).
There is only one God, and there is only one way to him. You may or may not like Tabasco, but we all should recognize and appreciate the power and glory of the one true God.
Today’s Prayer: Father, thank you for standing alone in glory. There is no one like you. Help me to give my heart to you completely.
