BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Georgia Baptists helped make up the more than 8,100 messengers attending the 2019 Southern Baptist Convention annual meeting. At the gathering, Baptists witnessed throughout Birmingham during Crossover, South Georgia pastor Mike Stone was re-elected to another term as SBC Executive Committee chairman, North Carolina pastor J.D. Greear was re-elected unopposed as SBC president for a second term, 26 international missionaries were commissioned into service, and associational mission strategists joined the SBC in approving a renewed call to fighting sexual abuse.
