Reader appreciates Baptist leadership

As a very active Georgia Baptist member/assistant pianist, I greatly appreciate Tess Schoonhoven's article "Soon but Safe," with its emphasis on considerate caution and a slow, step-by-step approach to reopening I have never been more thankful and proud to be in this denomination. Our leaders have consistently shown balanced, godly, and sensible leadership in this crisis.

One thing that has been lying on my heart is the thought of all the many disinfectant supplies that will be used after every single service. If you multiply that by all the churches in 159 counties of Georgia, then continue to multiply across the nation, it seems like an immense amount of disinfectant supplies that will be used for every church service, once so many churches return. My concern is that even now, supplies of Lysol, Clorox, masks etc. are already in short supply, and I just hate to think that those in most NEED of these supplies might end up short because we have bought them!

So that is just one more factor that causes me to appreciate the approach of the Georgia Mission Board. Thank you, guys for all the prayer, thought, time, and effort during this unprecedented situation.

Godspeed!
