DULUTH, Ga. – A group of incoming college freshmen from across Georgia are recipients of the Student Achievement Award scholarships that go to the state’s top scholars.
The scholarships from the Georgia Baptist Mission Board are awarded to students who will be attending either Brewton-Parker College, Shorter University or Truett McConnell University based on academic achievement, college entrance exam scores, church and community involvement, and recommendations from their Georgia Baptist pastors.
This year’s winners are:
Anna Elizabeth Dinn, a graduate of Paragon Cooperative Learning Academy, and member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She plans to major in either Christian studies or early childhood education.
Ruthanne Fisher, a graduate of Hebron Christian Academy and a member of North Metro Baptist Church. She plans to major in elementary education.
Brianna Hollis, a graduate of Banks County High School and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She plans to major in general nursing.
Kayla Holloway, a graduate of East Paulding High School and a member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church. She plans to major in music education.Claire Johnson, a graduate of West Laurens High School and a member of Dudley Baptist Church. She plans to major in psychology.
Philip Massengale, a graduate of Eagles’ Landing Christian Academy and a member of Salem Baptist Church. He plans to major in business management.
Callie Ray, a graduate of Oakwood Christian Academy and a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. She plans to major in English and history education.
Victoria Roberson, a graduate of CrossPointe Christian Academy and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She plans to major in pediatric nursing.
Eleanor Sims, a graduate of Cherokee High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Woodstock. She plans to major in nursing.
Amelia Smith, a graduate of Three Keys Co-op Homeschool and a member of Southpoint Fellowship Church. She plans to major in general studies.
Avery Smith, a graduate of Habersham Central High School and a member of Charity Baptist Church. He plans to major in finance.
Bethany Stewart, a homeschool graduate who was dually enrolled at Brewton Park College and a member of First Baptist Church of Douglas. She plans to major in early childhood education.
Jenaya Tyler, a graduate of Thomas County Central High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Cairo. She plans to major in psychology.
Emma Vessell, a graduate of Whitewater Highschool and a member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church. She plans to major in psychology.
