Steven Wright called as senior pastor at Dahlonega Baptist Church

Stone Mountain native Steven Wright has accepted the call as senior pastor at Dahlonega Baptist Church. He comes to the North Georgia church after a decade as pastor of Signal Mountain Baptist Church near Chattanooga, TN. Wright brings with him 16 years of experience including pastorates in Georgia and Alabama.

His first day of ministry at the church will be Aug. 13 and he will be joined by his wife, Patti, and their sons – Justin, Jonathan, and Jackson.

Wright received his Bachelor of General Studies, with Concentrations of Religious Studies, American Studies, and Culture and Society from Georgia Southern University in 1998. He went on to earn his Master of Divinity degree from both Beeson Divinity School and Mercer University in 2002.

He received his Doctor of Ministry degree from Beeson Divinity School in 2010.

Wright will be succeeding William D. Hutcheson, who retired after serving as pastor of the Dahlonega congregation for 23 years.
