There is always a moment in each and everyone’s lives that we see the uniqueness of the church that prays for one another.
I remember one Sunday as a former associate Hispanic pastor at Hebron Baptist Church in Dacula. With tears in her eyes, our beloved sister, Elizabeth, shared that she was diagnosed with cancer. As a faith family, the congregation came together as one and prayed over her and loved on her and her family. She understood that we cared and they matter to us and GOD!
The church saw how God gave us a glimpse of what I call togetherness in Christ and loving each other.
In the coming months she received different treatments. One Sunday morning, she came and gave us the biggest news ever – she was cancer-free!
What a celebration we had on that Sunday! We praised God and sang to Him, giving Him thanks. We worshipped Him, glorified Him and thanked Him for the power of TOGETHERNESS!
God is always good to everyone, even Elizabeth.
As we enter in this new season, with COVID-19, the church continues to pray for one another. And we see Christ being manifested through the church, loving and sharing hope to others.
COVID-19, cannot, will not, won’t stop the bride of Christ to continue to pray for one another.
God does amazing things thru prayer. How the church manifests God’s power and presence of Christ through themselves is really an eye-opener, because the world sees Christ manifested through His Church for a reason.
We need to humble ourselves to the authority of God. Christ humbled himself so that the Church could operate in humbleness and manifests Himself through His Church.
In this season of our lives, I believe the Church continues to manifest the power and presence of Christ. People’s lives are transformed and Jesus will continue to be known in our homes, communities, workplaces, schools, and the whole world.
In prison, Paul prayed for the power and presence of Christ to be manifested through His church. Paul had experienced it in his own life and knew that God’s grace was sufficient to grant him strength and power in his inner man through God’s Spirit.
I pray that God may grant the Church the power and presence of Christ to be manifested through His church.
I recently had a conversation with my brother, who lives in New York City. We talked about never giving up on the power of prayer and seeking a deeper sense of God’s love for everyone, including those who do not know Him.
As the conversation went deeper, he came to a conclusion that if God’s love was so deep, then we should pursue deepening our love and relationship with Him and those who need to hear about His unconditionally love. I told him that the more he seeks God and His love, God will continue strengthening him, his family and those around him (John 3:16).
When we observe Paul’s relationship with God, Paul continues to highlight the power of prayer. He prays that us, being rooted and firmly established in love, create a foundation of values and spiritual principles that would teach us to trust in God’s everlasting love for all humanity.
Sometimes we think God is wasting His time encouraging us, strengthening us, and even treating us to those things we say is insignificant. He demonstrates His power and love thru the Church as we believe that He is able to do above and beyond all we ask for or think according to the power that works in us.
God always wants to be known. And being known, He is glorified thru the church. That is the manifestation of His love and His peace, here on earth.
We must continue to persevere in prayer that God would will always be glorified through His Church. It is God’s representative here an earth.
Are we becoming more like Christ as His presence and power is manifested through the Church?
Are we deepening our relationship with God to understand His love?
Are we glorifying God as we represent His Church?
