FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. – A wildly successful discipleship event that drew some 1,300 youth to New Hope Baptist Church in March has been showcased in The Christian Post, an online evangelical publication based in Washington.
The Disciple Now gathering, held on New Hope’s north campus from March 24-26, involved students in grades seven through 12 and provided small group Bible studies led by college students and large group events led by nationally acclaimed speakers and worship bands, the publication reported.
New Hope Senior Pastor Rhys Stenner told The Christian Post that attendees had "an anticipation and a preparedness for what God was going to do."
"He softened and prepared hearts," Stenner told the publication.
Stenner told The Christian Post that the gathering was an "incredible time of worship from the first service to the last," with there being "unity among the churches."
Stenner said the energy from the Disciple Now event carried into Sunday morning worship. The church baptize 12 students last Sunday as a result of the event.
“The tremendous spirit of praise that morning was above the usual despite a terrible deluge of weather that morning," he told The Christian Post. "There was no dampening the enthusiasm, and probably the most joyous we had had on the Sunday morning of a DNOW."
