ATLANTA, Ga. — Georgia Baptists are once again looking forward to participating in The March for Life at the State Capitol.
The 2025 March will be a powerful statement to our state legislators and the media that our work is nowhere near done. We will happily and joyfully share our goals and desires to keep women and girls safe and healthy while ending the epidemic of abortion in our state.
Georgia Baptist Mission Board Executive Director W. Thomas Hammond, Jr., will be one of the participants speaking at the rally. He will be joined by other prominent pro-life advocates.
Former Georgia Bulldog, star NFL tight end, and Super Bowl champion, Benjamin Watson will headline the Georgia March for Life. In addition to his successful college and NFL football career, he is the author of The New Fight for Life: Roe, Race, and a Pro-life Commitment to Justice.
Watson will tell you his highest priority and most important roles are husband and father of seven.
Another former Bulldog and an esteemed physician, State Sen. Ben Watson, who serves as chairman of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee, will also speak.
Chairman Watson represents the 1st Senate district in the Savannah area and includes portions of Chatham and Liberty counties and all of Bryan County. Since 1988, Chairman Watson has served his community as a primary care physician in Savannah, where he practices internal medicine with a specialty in geriatrics.
Some of the other speakers expected at the rally are emcee Janelle King, Roman Catholic Archbishop John Hartmayer, Felicia Pricenor, and April Chapman. More information about the event is available at the following site: Georgia March For Life | Hosted by Georgia Life Alliance.
The Georgia March for Life is an important component to effectively change the culture in Georgia. With the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the power to protect the unborn has been given back to the American people (mostly) through elected state representatives.
All state capitols have now become a critical battleground for protecting life. That is why Georgia Baptists need you to march at the Georgia State Capitol to bring a voice for the voiceless.
Together, all Georgians can march to empower women to choose life and to defend the dignity of the unborn. This is about standing for and protecting both the mother and the baby.
Making abortion unthinkable in America – and Georgia - will take the effort of every single pro-life person. Each of us must commit to making a difference for the pro-life cause.
Now, more than ever it is important that you join us with other Georgians from across the state to March for Life.
