“You shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
When we think of being a missionary, most people think of someone who goes to another foreign country to spread the Gospel. However, as we see from the Scripture passage above, the Great Commission is not limited to foreign countries. It applies equally to the cities in which we live, our country, our Samaria (the folks nearby that we don’t get along with at all), as well as the rest of the world. In other words, every Christian “shall be witnesses” - wherever we find ourselves.
During my son’s later teenage years, he was rather introverted, but he felt an urging of the Holy Spirt to share the Gospel with other teens and members of the community. He was introduced to the teachings of Ray Comfort, the founder of Living Waters, a Christian ministry here in America. Ray Comfort became well known for his sermon, 'Hell's Best Kept Secret', which reveals the lost biblical key to reach unbelievers with the Gospel: sharing the Law before Grace. My son saw the effectiveness of this approach as he began sharing the Gospel in local malls and on his college campus. Materials from Living Waters equipped him to structure Gospel conversations with others in such a way as to clearly communicate their need for a Savior and help them realize that being a good person was simply not good enough to get them into heaven. He has carried these strategies with him into his adult life and overseas ministry.
This is one of the reasons I am excited to share an opportunity for anyone interested in learning to boldly and effectively share your faith. An Evangelism Training Conference will be held from October 30, 2024 - November 2, 2024, at Bremen First Baptist Church, 331 Pacific Ave., Bremen, GA, 30110. The speakers at this 3 ½ day training will be John Harris, the Director of Living Waters Europe, Pastor Manuel Brambilla, the personal assistant to Ray Comfort, and Pastor Hunter Roe from Bremen First Baptist Church.
Bremen First Baptist Church is hosting these speakers from Living Waters Europe Ministries to help train attendees how to make their home a mission field and how to communicate the gospel effectively to their family, friends, and neighbors. Students will also learn how to refute other world religions and philosophies, and how to preach the law and practice grace like Jesus did (the Way of the Master). Best of all, students will have the chance to practice what they learn. On both Halloween night and the following Saturday (November 2), they will go alongside their team leaders to pass out gospel tracts and do real open-air witnessing in local neighborhoods, colleges, and on street corners.
This Evangelism Training Conference is open to Christians of all denominations. Don’t miss this tremendous opportunity. Ticket sales end soon. Need-based scholarships are available (See details in the link below.)
