BRENTWOOD, Tenn. — Holman Bible Publishers has partnered with In His Grip Golf to create the “CSB In His Grip Golfer’s Bible,” releasing Nov. 1, to help golfers deepen their relationship with God.
Golf and faith have long been linked. Many notable professional golfers like Payne Stewart, who passed in 1999, and Scottie Scheffler, the current No. 1 ranked player in the world and a member of the U.S. Ryder Cup team, have used the platform of golf to declare their faith in Jesus Christ.
“We believe that golf is more than a game. It’s a gateway to the gospel,” said Scott Lehman, founder and president of In His Grip Golf.
Founded in 2007, In His Grip Golf is a nonprofit ministry dedicated to reaching men through the game of golf and equipping them to lead their families and communities. They do this through Bible study groups on courses across the U.S., as well as online videos and resources.
Going Deeper in the Scriptures
The “CSB In His Grip Golfer’s Bible” includes full-color inserts, study helps and a section that reflects the ministry’s devotional format with insights and analogies between golf and life.
“This Bible is a perfect means to encourage and equip golfers to deepen their relationship with God,” said Andy McLean, publisher for Holman Bibles. “So many people desire to know God better but aren’t sure where to start. This Bible not only provides practical instructions and devotions, but also points golfers to the In His Grip ministry, which helps foster biblical community in the lives of men.”
“We don’t just hand them God’s Word—we show them how to get a daily grip on it through the G.R.I.P. Method,” said Lehman.
The acronym for “God’s word, reveal, implement and prayer” leads readers to engage a portion of Scripture, pray and consider its applications. Designed to be compact and portable, the Bible can fit into a golf bag.
Reaching Men in America
Over 47 million people play golf in the U.S. and over 80% of those are male, according to the National Golf Foundation.
The “CSB In His Grip Golfer’s Bible” includes information about In His Grip Life Groups so men can join a group at their local golf course.
“Every Bible is an open door into a brotherhood of men who are also learning to live with a daily grip on God’s Word,” said Lehman. “Together, we encourage one another, grow in faith, and build a community that is leaving a legacy for generations to come.
“The Golfer’s Bible is more than a gift—it’s a game-changing movement of men who are choosing to live anchored in God’s truth.”
