DULUTH — An online training event Oct. 29 will help women in their numerous ministry roles but focus mainly on discipleship, said a Georgia Baptist leader.

Beverly Skinner

“OneDay•OneFocus is an exciting new virtual training event for women's ministry leaders, missions leaders, women in ministry, missionary sisters, and church planting wives,” expressed Beverly Skinner, Women’s Ministry, Young Women, and Communications consultant for Georgia Baptist Women.

“Based on Ephesians 4:1-16, the goal of OneDay•OneFocus is to help understand that while we all have differing roles in Kingdom work, our aim is the same: make disciples.”

Georgia played a key role alongside women’s ministry and WMU leaders from 20 other states to plan the event and its breakout sessions. Leaders taking part include Kelly King, LifeWay Women’s Ministry specialist; Sandy Wisdom-Martin, National WMU executive director; and Amy Whitfield, associate vice president of Convention Communications for the SBC Executive Committee. Breakout sessions will focus on topics such as:

  • Disciple-making
  • Spiritual disciplines
  • Leadership
  • Ministry in a COVID-19 context.

Participants will also have the opportunity to hear from International Mission Board missionaries and church planter wives associated with the North American Mission Board. Each of the six Southern Baptist seminaries will also have representatives on hand to share options for women’s ministry leaders. A time of corporate prayer for the nation and churches will conclude the event.

OneDay•OneFocus will begin at 5 p.m. EST on Oct. 29. For more information go to onedayonefocus.com. The $10 registration fee provides access to all of the content through the end of the year. All money collected beyond the cost of hosting OneDay•OneFocus will be given to the Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon offerings.
