WOODSTOCK, GA. — Daniel Henderson has a vision of seeing churches transformed and renewed, and it starts with helping individuals change the way they pray. “If you change the way you pray, you change the way you live,” said Henderson, president and founder of Strategic Renewal.
His organization is partnering with First Baptist Woodstock to hold Resilience, a three-day conference on March 18-20 designed to guide participants “toward scripture-fed, Spirit-led, worship-based prayer.”
Speakers at the conference will include Henderson, Send Network President Vance Pitman, Crawford Loritts, FBC Woodstock Pastor Jeremy Morton, and others.
“We are thrilled to host Strategic Renewal’s Resilience conference,” Morton said. “The reason I’m excited about this conference is because prayer and the Holy Spirit are the essential ingredients to any life-giving ministry. This conference will be all about the special work of God in the life of the pastor and in the life of his church that only the Holy Spirit can do. Without the Spirit we can do nothing, but with the Spirit anything is possible. I believe this week will be an encouraging, helpful time for pastors and churches to learn just how deep and wide they can go, with the Spirit of God’s holy touch on them.”
The conference is designed for pastors and ministry leaders, but Henderson encourages them to bring church members as well. “The key to unity is shared experience,” he said. “If you bring a team you will exponentially advance the results in your church. ‘The heart cannot taste what the eye has not seen.’”
The evening sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday, including appearances by guest worship leaders Shane and Shane and Mac Powell, are open to FBC Woodstock members and members of the public.
Prayer is central to the conference. Henderson said he is always moved by the spiritual hunger and passion of those attending. An hour of voluntary prayer is held before each day’s sessions, and Henderson said that hundreds of people will show up. “Seeking God’s face before His hand,” Henderson said, “frames the day in a powerful way.” Additionally, attendees pray following each session based on the text presented.
The conference features a Spanish track, and workshops designed for women, lay leaders, and pastors. “It’s meant for a ministry team to attend and experience together,” Henderson explained. “And to walk away with practical tools to implement what they’ve learned. It’s about more than just information, it’s about transformation.”
Josh Saefkow, pastor of Flat Creek Baptist Church, is a former attendee of the conference. “Nothing has shaped my life and ministry more than the principles of the Resilience Conference,” he said. “If you are looking for a fresh encounter with God, this moment is for you. You will walk away equipped and renewed ready for the next season of your life.”
