On Sunday, July 3, 2022, as the nation prepared to celebrate its 246th birthday, Hebron Baptist Church celebrated its 180th.
Members gathered for celebrations that included worship, a sermon by former Pastor Larry Wynn, a panel discussion by current and former pastors, and a fellowship meal.
The church was founded in 1842 with 15 charter members. At that time, the city of Dacula did not even exist. By 1911, the church had grown to 171 members.
Today, members meet in a worship center that seats 3600. Associate Pastor John Williams says the church has plans for continued growth. Among them, the opening in 2023 of The Haven, a home for young, pregnant women.
