DULUTH — A series of regional online gatherings will give Georgia Baptists an opportunity to focus on specific prayer needs in that part of the state.

The gatherings will begin April 14 with Discipleship consultant Tim Smith leading one for the Northwest region. Alan Morris, associational missions strategist for Etowah Baptist Association, will co-host. That afternoon at 3 p.m. Evangelism catalyst Levi Skipper will host a prayer gathering for the Northeast region alongside Steve Ferguson, associational missions strategist for Hebron Baptist Assocation.

On April 15 the West Central region will have a prayer gathering at 10 a.m. hosted by Scott Sullivan, Georgia Baptist Discipleship catalyst, and Jimmy Baughcum, associational missions strategist for Atlanta Metro Association. At 3 p.m. that day Missions catalyst Buck Burch will host the East Central region’s gathering with Mike Grenade, associational missions strategist for Dodge Baptist Association.

Jon Duncan, Worship and Music catalyst, will host the 10 a.m. April 16prayer gathering for the Southwest region alongside Gary Leutzinger, associational missions strategist for Houston Baptist Association. At 3 p.m. Marty Youngblood, Pastor Wellness consultant, and Freddy Gardner, associational missions strategist for Tattnall-Evans Association, will host the prayer gathering for the Southeast region.

“Everyone is invited to these events; it’s not just for church leadership,” stressed Mark Marshall, lead strategist for Georgia Baptist Church Strengthening. “The meetings will focus on specific prayer needs of that region and give the opportunity for attendees to join hundreds, perhaps thousands, of others in prayer.”

Each prayer gathering will take place on the Georgia Baptist Mission Board Facebook page. Those taking part will have the chance to share prayer requests in real time and post comments.

“With these gatherings, I hope we all are reminded that our hope is found in Jesus Christ,” said Marshall. “He’s the only one who can end this virus and bring healing to our land.”
