Timothy’s family, along with Paul, had a tremendous impact on his spiritual journey.
Sometimes I become sentimental as I think back over my life to people who modeled authentic Christianity and influenced my life toward God. Kim and Tammi Hammonds invited me to summer youth camp when I was 12. Thursday night of that camp I was saved. Pastor Allen led both my parents to Christ and has prayed for our family every day for over 50 years. Where would our family be today without his love for God? I could name many others who have impacted my life greatly.
Today as you prepare your heart to worship God and hear His Word. Remember those who influenced your life spiritually and thank the Lord for them. Take time this week to give them a call, a visit, send a letter, or gift thanking the men and women – like Lois and Eunice – who modeled a genuine faith to you.
