CLEVELAND, Ga. — Truett McConnell University is excited to welcome Caleb Ferguson as the new assistant professor of Music at the Felix Manz School of Music. Caleb, a TMU alumnus and a distinguished scholar in Opera Performance, along with his wife Emily, also a TMU graduate, are returning to the TMU family.
Caleb expressed his joy about returning to TMU, stating, “As TMU alumni, my wife and I are very excited that the Lord is calling us to return to the North Georgia mountains. Truett played a pivotal role in our lives academically and spiritually. I am excited to see what God has planned for us and look forward to teaching a new generation of musicians.”
Kenneth J. Gabrielse, chair of the Felix Manz School of Music, also shared his enthusiasm for Caleb’s arrival: “The Felix Manz School of Music is excited to welcome Caleb Ferguson back to where his love for singing and teaching was realized. We know the energy, excitement, and expertise Caleb is bringing to TMU will pay dividends in the lives of our students and the churches, schools, and studios they will serve in the future. Welcome home Caleb and Emily!”
In his new role, Caleb will teach studio voice and general music classes, and in collaboration with TMU’s distinguished voice faculty, he will direct a range of performance opportunities for voice students, including musical theater, opera scenes, and special event performances.
Dr. Gabrielse added, “It will be a joy to watch our students grow in their performance skills and enthusiasm for the stage under Caleb’s leadership.”
