CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — Audrey Grace Holder of Truett McConnell University has been named the 2025 recipient of the WGCA NAIA Kim Moore Spirit Award. This award recognizes a student-athlete who demonstrates a great spirit toward the game of golf, a positive attitude both on and off the course, and exceptional mental toughness in facing personal challenges.

In February of 2019, Holder was thrown from a golf cart, suffering a cracked skull and a brain bleed that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. The recovery process not only impacted her cognitive abilities but also demanded that she completely rebuild her golf game. Despite the odds, she returned to competition and excelled. As team captain of the Lady Bears, Holder competed in 12 events during the 2024–25 season while maintaining a 3.6 GPA as a business major.

"I am so proud of Audrey Grace for her perseverance, dedication, and leadership on our women's golf team," said Head Coach Steve Patton. "After her injury, it would have been easy to give up the game of golf and allow this situation to adversely affect her attitude. She met this challenge head on, putting Jesus first in everything she does. He has rewarded her immensely."

The Kim Moore Spirit Award is named in honor of Kim Moore, a former standout golfer at the University of Indianapolis who overcame significant physical challenges during her collegiate career. Moore's story continues to inspire, highlighted by her victory at the inaugural U.S. Adaptive Open in 2022. The award is presented annually to one student-athlete or coach in each division (DI, DII, DIII, NAIA) who embodies high moral character, positivity, perseverance, and commitment to the game.

This marks a historic moment for the TMU women's golf program, as Holder becomes the first Lady Bear to earn this distinguished national award.
