INDIANAPOLIS — To kick off the morning session of the Southern Baptist Convention Pastors’ Conference on June 10 in Indianapolis, Benny Wong preached from Exodus 32:7–14 and “its sister passage” Deuteronomy 9:8–29.
In these passages, Moses intercedes on behalf of the people of Israel after they made a golden calf and God said He was going to consume them with His wrath.
After Moses’ intercession, God relented and preserved the people.
Wong, director of Gateway Seminary’s Chinese-English bilingual program, shared three practical principles of intercessory prayer.
He told the pastors present at the conference that faithful intercessors must translate what they hear into prayer without delay, they must be willing to pray tirelessly and they must testify openly of God’s answers to prayer.
