The way we run our race

Posted

Scripture for today: 1 Corinthians 9:19-27.

The Apostle Paul was willing to adjust his life for the purpose of ministering the Gospel to all people. He could adjust his life to the way of the Jews as well as to the way of the Gentiles. At times he would limit his freedom so as not to be needlessly offensive to the people that he was trying to reach.

Spreading the Gospel was paramount in Paul’s life. He viewed life as a race. His choices in life were made in view of how they would impact his ability to spread the Gospel. He didn’t want anything in his life to be used against the Gospel.

This commitment required foresight and discipline. How are you structuring your life to impact others with the Gospel? Is there anything in your life right now that could be used to discredit the Gospel?

This devotion is based on Marty McLain's book "The Crown has Fallen: A Study of the Kings of Judah."
