A retirement reception will be held for Ken Cloud, longtime pastor, evangelist, and associational missionary for Bowen Baptist Association, on Sept. 21. The event will take place at the Association office, located at 1309 Vada Road in Bainbridge, beginning at 3 p.m. Light finger foods, cake, and punch will be provided for friends and guests. Dustin Gillespie FBC DAWSONVILLE

First Baptist Church Dawsonville will hold a special service installing Dustin Gillespie as senior pastor on Sept. 29 at 11:00 a.m.

Gillespie formerly pastored Redemption Fellowship Church, a church plant in Willard, North Carolina. He’s a two-time graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.

His first Sunday as pastor is Sept. 8. Dustin and his wife Brittainy have five children: Luke (10), Wyatt (8), Titus (7), Gatlin (5), and Ella-Ivy (2).

Georgia Gov. Kemp signs bills to combat human trafficking

ATLANTA – Gov. Brian Kemp signed three bills Wednesday aimed at human trafficking in Georgia. “We are taking three important steps forward to make sure Georgia is a safe haven for survivors … turning Georgia into a national leader for victims’ rights and putting criminals behind bars,” Kemp said during a bill signing ceremony at the state Capitol.
