You asked for this

You ever stopped and thought “Wow, I prayed for this! It’s here. It’s happening?”
“While traveling to Jerusalem, he passed between Samaria and Galilee as he entered a village, ten men with leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and raised their voices, saying, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!’ When he saw them, he told them, ‘Go and show yourselves to the priests.’ And while they were going, they were cleansed. But one of them, seeing that he was healed, returned and, with a loud voice, gave glory to God. He fell facedown at his feet, thanking him. And he was a Samaritan. Then Jesus said, ‘Were not ten cleansed? Where are the nine? Didn’t any return to give glory to God except this foreigner? ’ And he told him, ‘Get up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you’” – Luke 17:11-17
How many times do we overlook God’s blessings, even the ones that we asked for? In the passage above we saw 10 lepers are healed, but only one returned to say thank you. We heard how gratefulness was overlooked. In the text, we see out of 10 people getting what they asked for only one showed gratitude.
Oftentimes, we are like the nine.
We pray, we ask, we seek God for healing and blessings, but after we get it we forget all about God and we take the blessings for granted. We also tend to complain about God’s blessings because it requires more, but we forget this is what we asked God for. So, let’s not forget to be grateful for everything God gives us.
