Rentz Baptist Church recently called Cliff Ford as youth/children’s pastor. Previously he served in the same position at First Baptist Church, Oil City, LA.  Ford began his ministry at Rentz on May 27.

Dave Parker began his ministry as missions pastor at First Baptist of Statesboro on June 1.

Parker and his wife, Yvonne, are former IMB missionaries to Eurasia and Africa who later served 15 years as pastor at First Duluth. During his ministry there the church was named the On Mission Church of the Year in 2004.

He is a graduate of Georgia Southern University and Southern Seminary.

In his new role Parker will mobilize and facilitate the support and involvement of members in global missions. He will be a resource for the church and other congregations who want to strengthen their commitment and involvement with international missions.

First Statesboro has a rich heritage of supporting international missions, and is regularly acknowledged as a leader in Cooperative Program giving and global missions support. Pastor John Waters commented that adding Parker to the staff “builds upon our church’s longstanding commitment to missions, whether it is across the street or across the globe.”
