GAINESVILLE, Ga. -- The Georgia Baptist Mission Board hosted a regional Hispanic church strengthening conference at Pozo De Esperanza in Gainesville on Saturday, one of three such conferences in the past month across the state.

Daniel Santander, the Mission Board's Hispanic church strengthening representative, lead the event, creating an atmosphere to equip and empower local church pastors with tools to impact the growing Hispanic population in northern Georgia.

Speakers included Freddy Noble, pastor of Primera Iglesia Hispana En Manhattan; Ramon Osorio of the North American Mission Board, Julio Arriola, executive director for Hispanic Mobilization and Carolina Santander who serves as a Pastor’s Wives’ Care GBMB volunteer.

“Latinos are one of the fastest growing segments of Georgia’s population," said Levi Skipper, lead strategist for the Mission Board's church strengthening ministry. "If we are to reach our state with the gospel effectively, it is imperative we are intentional about strengthening our Hispanic churches. I am grateful for God’s work in and through Hispanic Baptist churches.”
